Data Release Policy Selection Underway . . .
Site PIs now have the opportunity to choose between three policies for release of their data.  These policies include a revised La Thuile policy that limits the data access to data providers, a more open policy that enables non-data providers to have access to the data via proposals, and an open fair use policy that enables open download without a proposal.  Site PIs who are interested in making their election selections, can do so using the "Data Policy Selection" menu item in the left hand menu on the fluxdata home page once logged in.
Epot units verification underway
Dear users, we are currently checking the units and equations used to calculate the potential evapotranspiration. If you are using this variable please wait further communications about the correctness of the calculation. Posted on behalf of Dario Papale.
Matlab 2009 access to the data cube is now working. . .
The Matlab package we provide to connect to data cubes was not working with Matlab 2009.  We just resolved the problem and a new package that will work with Matlab 2009 and earlier is available.  If you are having trouble connecting to data cubes from an older version of Matlab, please try deleting any old versions of the data cube access library and installing the latest version of our Matlab data cube access package from here.
Published papers based on the La Thuile FLUXNET Synthesis Dataset
There is now a page listing the published papers that are the result of the FLUXNET Synthesis effort begun in La Thuile.  As papers are published, they will be posted here. Additional material including appendices of the papers can be accessed by members of FLUXNET here.
Map of towers selected by a paper . . .
Now for any paper that has specified the towers in their analysis, you can get a map of the towers in use by the paper (specified by the writers of the paper).  The map can be found at http://www.fluxdata.org/DataInfo/Dataset%20Doc%20Lib/TowersSelectedByPaper.aspx. Once you get to the map, select the paper using the selector at the top and it will show you any towers that have been selected by that paper.  The resulting map is interactive.  If you float over a dot, you will get information about the tower.  You can also zoom in and out, navigate around, and switch to a map (road) view.
Send e-mail to tower PI working . . .
The function that allows the paper coordinator to communicate with the tower pis is now working again.  Please let us know if you experience any problems using it.
Send e-mail to tower PIs - workaround
While we continue to debug the send e-mail to tower PIs function, we have a temporary work-around. You have 2 options available to you.
  1. You can send your message to all tower pis using the mailing list fluxdata-tower-pis@fluxdata.org
  2. If you contact fluxdata-support@fluxdata.org with the name of the proposal, we can send you a list of the e-mails for the selected towers.

Thank you for your patience while we track down the cause of the problems.

Matlab interface to the cube updated . . download new
The MATLAB interface to the cube has been updated.  In order to maintain functionality and connect to the data cube you will have to download the new client library at http://bwc.lbl.gov/Tools/CubeAccessLib2009-05-19.zip and load that library into your MATLAB following the instructions.
Send e-mail function not working correctly . . .
In the proposals section of the site proposal coordinators can send e-mail to the towers they have chosen. Errors in this function have been reported that are causing the e-mail to only reach a subset of the towers.  We are working on the problem and will have it fixed as soon as we can.  In the meanwhile, if you use the function and experience an error, please send the error message reported on the page to fluxdata-support@fluxdata.org. If your message is to all tower pis that have data in fluxnet, you can use your normal e-mail client to send your message to fluxdata-tower-pis@fluxdata.org
Updated MATLAB format Ancillary data file . . .
The site ancillary data file that is available for download in MATLAB format under the "Data Download" tab was not being updated at the same frequency as the ancillary data reports on the fluxdata site.  We have now corrected that oversight and the site ancillary data file in MATLAB format available for download is up-to-date.  Please download a new file to see the latest data. (keep in mind, this file contains only a subset of the ancillary data).  The rest of the ancillary data can be downloaded via the data browsing page.
